Understanding what has been funded in your NDIS plan is crucial, as it affects how you budget your funding to ensure you receive the necessary supports to meet your NDIS goals without running out of funds.

I Have My NDIS Plan, But I Don’t Know What It Means
Take it to your Support Coordinator or Recovery Coach

If you have been funded for Support Coordination services, your Support Coordinator or Recovery Coach can help clarify your NDIS plan. They can:

  • Explain the funded supports in your plan.
  • Assist you in organising these supports within your available funding.
  • Help you understand what supports can be provided by other government and community services and connect you to them if appropriate.
  • Assist in making service agreements with your providers.
  • Request changes to your plan if there has been a change in your life circumstances.

My NDIS Plan Does Not Have Funding for a Support Coordinator or Recovery Coach
Speak to your NDIS Contact

If your NDIS plan does not include funding for Support Coordination services, your NDIS Contact is responsible for explaining your plan and detailing the funded supports it includes. The name and phone number of your NDIS contact are on listed your plan.

  • Request an Implementation Meeting: Arrange a meeting with your NDIS contact. They are required to provide this meeting within 28 days after your NDIS plan is approved.
  • Get a Service Providers List: Your NDIS contact can also give you a list of service providers in your area.
  • Ask for a Plan Funding Breakdown: Be sure to request the “plan funding breakdown,” which provides a detailed list of the funded supports and the approved amounts for each support

Alternatively, you can obtain the funding information by contacting the NDIS National Call Centre (NCC) at 1800 800 110 or by using the NDIS webchat. Make sure to request the plan funding breakdown.

Next Steps
Now that you know what has been funded in your NDIS plan, it’s essential to plan your budget to ensure you do not run out of funds. Proper budgeting will help you make the most of your funding and achieve your NDIS goals.
