KidSport Funding for WA Families

The KidSport program provides funding (vouchers) to help children in Western Australia participate in community sports and swimming lessons. Effective from 7th of July 2024, each eligible child can receive up to $500 per financial year.

Eligibility – Who Can Get the Vouchers?

  • Age: 5-18 years old
  • Residency: Western Australia resident
  • Income: Child must be named on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card
  • Interest: Child must be enrolling in a KidSport Club

Application Process

  1. Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the KidSport eligibility criteria.
  2. Find a Club Locate an approved KidSport Club.
  3. Apply Online: Complete your application online here.

How to Know if Your Child Has Been Approved?

Your application will be assessed within 10-15 business days. If unsuccessful, you will receive an email notification. If successful, you will receive a KidSport voucher via email. You can also choose to receive it via SMS if you opt-in.

Where to Use Your Voucher

Give the voucher code to your chosen KidSport Club. If the fees exceed the voucher amount, you’ll need to cover the difference. The club will validate your voucher, and the Department of Local Government, Sports, and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) will handle the payment to the club.

Some of the KidSport Club in the City of Canning include:

  • Bentley Cricket Club
  • Canning Swim School
  • Jungle Gym for Gymnastics
  • Queens Park Little Athletics Incorporated.
